Dedicated to a poem by Emily Dickinson

This piece is created by collaborating with a poetry anthology "Kanohito" written by Bin Sugawara.

Challenging conceptual expressions in her recent years, Ikeda was very particular about the glaze this time. Imagining the colors after fired, she puts layers of several kinds of glaze over a few days. The process where she uses her imagination to layer colors overlaps with the life of Dickinson which she spent most of her days at home devoting herself to writing poetry. The piece with such sweet and sensuous ambiance is as if it is capturing “a moment of ecstasy” throwing all reasons. You can say it is a tribute which you can feel Ikeda’s deep love towards Dickinson.
